Akçansa was established in 1996 through the merger of Akçimento and Çanakkale Çimento. With 20.56% of its shares publicly traded, as of June 18, 2026, the company continues to move confidently toward the future under the majority ownership of Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest building materials companies.
Akçansa produces cement and clinker at its three integrated cement plants located in Büyükçekmece (Istanbul), Çanakkale, and Ladik (Samsun). Through its Betonsa brand, the company produces ready-mixed concrete at 26 ready-mixed concrete plants. Akçansa also continues its aggregates production operations at its facilities in Saray (Tekirdağ), Edremit, and Bursa.
Through its port operations in Çanakkale and Istanbul-Ambarlı, Akçansa ensures the efficient distribution of its products, while managing its supply chain seamlessly and efficiently through its terminals located in İzmir-Aliağa, Istanbul-Ambarlı, Yalova, and Kocaeli-Yarımca. The company conducts its operations at all facilities in compliance with the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, TS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.
