Continuing its social responsibility activities with the aim of being a good neighbour, Akçansa started the first leg of the “My Profession Your Choice” project with Ladik Akpınar Science High School.
Bringing 10th and 11th grade students together with Akçansa engineers at the Ladik Plant, the company shared experiences and mentored students to support them in discovering their talents and interests.
The first stop of Akçansa, which launched the ‘My Profession, Your Choice’ project in order to support students who will choose a profession to discover their talents and interests based on engineering skills, was Samsun Ladik Akpınar Science High School.
On 26 May, the company brought high school 10th and 11th grade students together with Akçansa engineers at the Ladik Plant, listened to their future expectations, shared experiences and answered their questions. Within the scope of the programme, which attracted great interest from students, Akçansa engineers, who voluntarily mentored students with their knowledge of the engineering profession, also shared the company’s work within the scope of 2030 Sustainability Goals with young people.
“We will continue to meet young people with our volunteer engineers” Commenting on the issue, Akçansa General Manager M. Zeki Kanadıkırık said that they are happy that Akçansa engineers provide mentoring support to students preparing for the future, which will help them in their career choices and university life. Kanadıkırık continued; “We share our experiences with students to help them achieve their dreams, and we support them in matters they are curious about their business and university life. In our project, which we started with the students we hosted in our Samsun Ladik Factory, we support young people to get to know their professional fields closely. Our project will expand to different cities and continue in the upcoming period. As Akçansa, we will continue to produce innovative projects and carry out activities that create social value with the aim of being a good neighbour.”
