Akçansa Achieves 15.6 Billion TL in Sales During the First Nine Months of 2024

Akçansa has announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2024, reporting sales totaling 15.6 billion TL.

As a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, Akçansa shared its financial performance for the first three quarters of 2024. Sales reached 15.6 billion TL, while EBITDA amounted to 2.9 billion TL for the same period.

Robust Steps Toward Achieving Sustainability

Commenting on the results, Akçansa CEO Vecih Yılmaz stated: “In the first nine months of 2024, we continued working toward achieving a sustainable future for our country through robust operational activities. Our total cement and derivatives sales volume increased by 2.5% compared to the same period last year. As in the second quarter of 2024, market dynamics, the positive trend in total sales volume, and stable energy prices continued to impact our financial results positively. In the first nine months of 2024, our net sales amounted to 15.6 billion TL, with our EBITDA reaching 2.9 billion TL.”

Yılmaz highlighted that the company operates with the vision of becoming Türkiye’s most sustainable building materials company with the highest stakeholder value by maximizing benefits for all stakeholders through strategic collaborations. He continued, “As part of our circular economy approach, we have partnered with ODAŞ to recycle fly ash from the Çan-2 Thermal Power Plant back into the economy through circular processes. This significant strategic collaboration, which covers the supply of approximately 2 million tons of fly ash, will also contribute to our approach to combating climate change. Additionally, we made a significant stride in water management, a cornerstone of our sustainability approach, by becoming the first Turkish cement company to sign the United Nations Global Compact’s (UNGC) ‘CEO Water Mandate,’ a milestone we take great pride in achieving. During this period, we also entered into a valuable collaboration to expand the service portfolio of our port operations globally. Under our Akçansa Port brand, we have signed an agreement with Grimaldi Group, a global leader in international Ro-Ro operations, to provide the group with international Ro-Ro services. We are proud to contribute to Türkiye’s exports through Ro-Ro shipments from Ambarlı Port to Italy. Moreover, we strive to make sustainable contributions to humanity and societal life. Within the framework of our ‘Volunteering Journey’ social responsibility project, we continue to support the futures of our children and youth through STEM Workshops and STEM Talks. We remain committed to producing for a more sustainable future.”
