Developed by Betonsa for insulation purposes, Izobeton is 50% to 75% lighter than normal concrete and screeds and consists of cement fine aggregate (sand), lightweight aggregate and chemical additives. It is fluid when fresh and can be pumped by screed or concrete pump. The lightweight aggregate used is expanded polystyrene (EPS). The hollow structure of EPS gives Izobeton both lightness, heat insulation and sound absorption properties. It is aimed to design more comfortable living spaces with the sound absorbing feature of Izobeton, which directly contributes to energy efficiency with its thermal insulation feature.
