Umut Zenar

Chair

Umut Zenar holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Boğaziçi University and subsequently completed his Executive MBA at the same university.

Joining the Sabancı Group in 2004, Zenar held senior positions in Strategy, Business Development and Marketing at Akçansa until December 2016, serving as Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing and CEO of Akçansa. Between December 2016 and June 2018, he served as the General Coordinator at Oyak Cement, Concrete and Paper Group. Umut Zenar was appointed CEO of Akçansa in July 2018 and held this position until 2020, alongside his role as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Karçimsa A.Ş.

Zenar began his role as CEO of Çimsa in 2020 and held this position until December 2025. 

Umut Zenar has been appointed as the Strategic Investments and Operations President at Sabancı Holding, effective January 1, 2026.

Mr. Burak Orhun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University and a Master’s degree in Finance (MSF) from George Washington University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton Business School. 

Having started his professional career as a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist at Mercedes Benz Türk A.Ş. Burak Orhun worked as Finance Manager, Portfolio Management Director, Corporate Development Director and Assistant General Manager of Financial Affairs at Thomson Corporation (Reuters), CapitalOne Financial and CadenceQuest, Inc. in the USA.

Mr Burak Orhun served as the General Manager of Oyak Venture Consultancy, responsible for all M&A projects of Oyak Group between 2009 and 2018. Concurrently, he served as senior manager, executive director and chairperson of the board of directors at Oyak Group’s domestic and foreign chemical and energy companies.

Orhun joined Sabancı Group in 2018 as the Head of Strategy and Business Development at Sabancı Holding, and served as the Head of Building Materials Group at Sabancı Holding between May 2021 and April 2024; and as the Head of Materials Technologies Group between April 2024 and December 2025. Burak Orhun has been appointed as the Strategic Investments President at Sabancı Holding, effective January 1, 2026.

René Aldach

Board Member

René Aldach completed his studies in Business Administration at the Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität Münster with a university diploma degree in Business Administration. René Aldach started his career at Heidelberg Materials in 2004. In 2015, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Australian joint venture Cement Australia. In 2018, he assumed financial responsibility for the entire Australian country organisation as Chief Financial Officer Hanson and Board Director for Hanson & Cement Australia. Since September 2020, René Aldach has been responsible for the entire accounting, controlling, and reporting of Heidelberg Materials Group as Director Group Reporting, Controlling & Consolidation. Since 1 September 2021, René Aldach has been Chief Financial Officer of Heidelberg Materials. As of January 2024, René Aldach is also responsible for Heidelberg Materials business in Australia.

Bülent Bozdoğan

Bülent Bozdoğan was born in 1956. After graduating from Middle East Technical University, Department of Business Administration, he joined PwC as a Senior Auditor in 1980. From 1982 to 1991, he worked as a Manager in various commercial and financial departments of Unilever Türkiye. In October 1991, he joined Brisa Bridgestone Tire Co., a joint venture between Sabancı Holding and Bridgestone Japan, as Assistant General Manager in charge of Finance, Planning, and Control. In January 2001, he continued his career as Global CFO and Vice President at KordSA Global A.Ş., a joint venture between DuPont USA and Sabancı Group. In 2009, he started work as the Chief Audit Manager responsible for the auditing of 20 different group companies of Sabancı Holding A.Ş. and managed and coordinated the audit teams of each company. Bülent Bozdoğan retired at the age of 62 in accordance with Sabancı Holding’s internal regulations after 26 years at Sabancı. In January 2018, he took office as the CEO responsible for Mining and Tourism Operations at Dedeman Holding for 2 years and resigned when his term was complete. As of July 2020, he has worked as an Independent Board Member and Head of Auditing at Borusan Mannessman Boru A.Ş., a Turkish-German joint venture, and he still holds this position. In October 2020, he became an Independent Board Member at Kordsa Indonesia, and in September 2021, he became an Independent Board Member at CarrefourSA.
