Akçansa’s First Integrated Annual Report Wins Two International Awards
Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, received two prestigious awards at the International ARC Awards for its first Integrated Annual Report, published with the theme ‘Reflections.’
Following the competition evaluations, the company won a bronze award in the Construction and Building Materials – Cover/Home Page Design category. Additionally, Akçansa was honored with a Merit Award in the Integrated Annual Report & ESG – PDF Version category by an international jury of independent professionals.
Since 2010, Akçansa has been sharing its sustainability performance with all its stakeholders in accordance with international standards. With its 2022 Integrated Annual Report, the company returned from the International ARC Awards with two significant awards.
The ARC Awards, organized by the U.S.-based MerComm to recognize excellence in annual reports, received 1,560 submissions from 34 countries. Akçansa earned a bronze award in the ‘Construction and Building Materials – Cover/Home Page Design’ category and was honored with a merit award in the ‘Integrated Annual Report & ESG – PDF Version’ category.

Akçansa’s 2022 Integrated Annual Report, themed ‘Reflections,’ features the performance results for priority topics determined with the participation of all stakeholder groups. The company consolidated these topics into 18 key areas and utilized the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) guidelines for developing a double materiality matrix. Through collaboration with seven stakeholder groups, Akçansa identified its operations’ environmental and social impacts. The company also conducted focus group studies with executive management to evaluate how these material topics impact business processes. In its 2022 Integrated Annual Report, Akçansa shared its performance on these topics with a forward-looking perspective for its stakeholders.
