Akçansa supports Pınarbaşı Elementary School
Akçansa, the leader of Turkish cement industry, renovated the Pınarbaşı Elementary School located in Ezine and undertook all costs related to maintenance and repair, infrastructure reorganization and in-classroom education materials.
The students of Pınarbaşı Elementary School started the 2010-2011 school year in happy spirits as a result of the maintenance and repair work that Akçansa conducted on the school. Akçansa’s work in restoring the school demonstrates the importance they give to being a socially responsible company to supporting education and the environment.
The ceremony that was held for the completion of the Pınarbaşı Elementary School renovations was attended by Çanakkale Provincial Director of National Education Vefa Bardakçı, Ezine District Director of National Education Ömer Ceylan, Ezine District Governor Cengiz Karabulut, Ezine Public Prosecutor Fidan Dinçer Aktuğ, district governmental administrators and Pınarbaşı Elementary School teachers and students. At the ceremony, Akçansa Çanakkale Factory Manager Ali Rıza Karakaş gave a speech and said, “As Akçansa, we act with the awareness of our social responsibility to the society we live in and in all regions that we are active in. With the support that we give to the field of education, we are especially happy to contribute to bringing up a generation that is being educated in good conditions and that looks toward the future with confidence. ”
Stating that the education materials of all classrooms are renewed, Karakaş said, “We will continue to contribute to the schools and education.”
While the infrastructure of the school was reorganized by the works undertaken by Akçansa in Pınarbaşı Elementary School, inner and outer facades and floor organizations were completed; classrooms, student desks and teachers’ room were renewed in time for the education year.
Provincial Director of National Education Vefa Bardakçı and Ezine District Governor Cengiz Karabulut thanked Akçansa for its contributions and cut the opening ribbon with the factory authorities.
