Akçansa volunteers gave waste and recycle trainings during the Volunteers Week
During the Private Sector Volunteers Week, Akçansa, the leader construction materials company of Turkey, met with the children in Büyükçekmece within the scope of “Children Transforming Future” project launched in cooperation with ÇEVKO Foundation and Büyükçekmece Municipality.
Akçansa carries out works with full pace for teaching the children understanding their place in the society and taking personal responsibility for a sustainable future.
During the Private Sector Volunteers Week celebrated on May 9-15, Akçansa volunteers visited the schools in Büyükçekmece and provided information to the students on using the resources consciously for contributing to a sustainable world such as separating the wastes at their source and obtaining energy from wastes.
Akçansa volunteers reached out to approximately 500 students through the interactive trainings provided in a different school each day throughout the week. Akçansa volunteers also placed recycling boxes to the schools and provided an opportunity to the students for implementing the theoretical information. More than 5 thousand children have received training through the trainings launched in 2015.
