The Concrete Canoe Competition organized by the Istanbul Technical University Engineering Preparation Club, which Akçansa – the leader construction materials company of Turkey – has acted as the Bronze sponsor, was held at İTÜ Ayazağa campus on May 14-15.

The Istanbul Technical University team won the Concrete Canoe Competition where the young engineer candidates competed fiercely, while the Balıkesir University team ranked second, and the Boğaziçi University team ranked third.

The Concrete Canoe Competition organized by the Istanbul Technical University Engineering Preparation Club, which Akçansa – the leader construction materials company of Turkey – has acted as the bronze sponsor, was held at İTÜ Ayazağa campus on May 14-15 with the participation of engineer candidates from various universities of Turkey. At the Concrete Canoe Competition organized with the motto “Discovering the Limits of Concrete”, the students competed in the İTÜ Pond with concrete canoes they designed.

Making debut with the canoes they prepared with a great effort for months, before the competition the students explained to the jury members the process for preparing to the competition and how they designed the concrete canoe.

At the competition organized for the civil engineering students to discover the resistance and workability of concrete and the limits of concrete, and to reveal innovative ideas, the Istanbul Technical University team won the competition, while the Balıkesir University team ranked second, and the Boğaziçi University team ranked third.
