People oriented management culture and employee related investments of Akçansa, the leading construction materials company of Turkey, were rewarded with “Gold Standard” by Investors in People (IIP).

Valuing people and embracing the human resources management as a company rather than considering it as a function, Akçansa is awarded with Gold Standard following its application to and first assessment by the Investors In People (IIP), the international people management and development standard.

Akçansa Assistant General Manager of Human Resources Hakan Timur indicated that such a success can only be achieved by the teams who believe in each other and focus on a common target and said, “IIP is the only “people oriented” quality standard in the world focusing on how correctly all processes and practices related to human resources development and management are carried out and how they can be made better. As a company investing to its people, we initiated the IIP process with the motto “We Pursue for Our People”. We’ve been rewarded with Gold Standard, the highest level of IIP, after personal interviews held with more than 100 employee representatives from both blue and white collar employee groups, as well as the process and field inspections held by the local and foreign assessors.”

Gold result obtained at first application and first assessment

Hakan Timur stated that the award is of great importance and value both for the company and the employees and said, “We are proud to be the first organization in our industry and fourth in Turkey awarded with this standard, as well as ranking among 7% worldwide. And we are also the first industrial organization in Turkey receiving this award at our first application and first assessment. We are really glad for this.
