Akçansa continues to create value for Çanakkale through its factory with an annual production capacity of 5,5 million metric tons of cement and 4,5 million tons of clinker.

Founded in 1996 with the merger of Akçimento (established in 1967) and Çanakkale Çimento (established in 1974), Akçansa currently operates in Marmara, Aegean and Black Sea regions. Akçansa is proud of being a Çanakkale based company, and contributes to the economical and social development of Çanakkale by carrying out its production activities in Çanakkale for 42 years.

Steering the Turkish cement industry, Akçansa covers approximately 10 percent of total cement need, and approximately 11 percent of total clinker need of Turkey.

Akçansa and Sustainability

Mentioning about the activities of Akçansa in Çanakkale, Akçansa General Manager Umut Zenar Said, “As a company steering the industry, we are directing our new investments to energy efficiency and sustainable environment. Accordingly, we are working with a focus on efficiency and sustainability with renewable energy resources and waste management applications.30% of the energy need of our Çanakkale Factory is covered by “Waste Heat Recovery Facility”, the first and biggest of Turkey and neighboring geography, we commissioned in 2011. Alternative Fuel Preparation and Feeding Facility launched with an investment of 11 million TL is the first and only facility of Turkey that shivers and burns waste rubber.”

We are offering our products and services to various geographies such as USA, Western Africa countries, and Mediterranean Basin. We are the biggest supplier of the USA market with our products with high added value which we produce only in Çanakkale.”
