Contributing in the economic and social development of Çanakkale for 41 years, Akçansa continues to add value to Çanakkale with its factory having the capacity to manufacture 5,5 million tons of cement and 4,5 million tons of clinker per year.

Being founded in Çanakkale in 1974, Akçansa – born from the merging of Çanakkale Cement and Akçimento, is proud of its 41 years of history in Çanakkale and remembers our ancestries with respect in the 100th Anniversary of Çanakkale Marine Victory, a unique victory in the history of the world and Turkey.

Akçansa, the leader construction materials company of Turkey, manufactures 5,5 million tons of cement and 4,5 million tons of clinker per year in Çanakkale Factory. Akçansa provides employment directly and indirectly approximately for 800 in the region and is an important source of employment for Çanakkale.

Through taking the attention to the importance of Çanakkale for Akçansa, Akçansa General Manager Mr. Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu said, \”The meaning and importance of Çanakkale for Akçansa is always different; since Akçansa born and grown on the lands of Çanakkale. \”There is productivity and sustainability on the focus of Akçansa’s activities\”

Mentioning the activities of Akçansa in Çanakkale, Mr. Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu added; \”As a company leading the Turkish cement sector almost for half a century, we are directing our new investments in the energy and sustainable environment fields. Within this scope, we are working as focused on renewable energy sources, waste management practices, and productivity and sustainability. 30% of the energy requirement of our Çanakkale Factory is covered with Turkey’s first “Waste Thermal Recycling Plant” that we activated in 2011. The power that we generate has the equal rate with the domestic power consumption of Çanakkale city’s center. We have activated our “Alternative Fuel Feeding” investment in our Çanakkale Factory in March 2013. Getting activated with an investment of 11 million TL, our Alternative Fuel Preparation and Feeding Plant is the first and only plant of Turkey that can crash and incinerate rubber.”

“We are the greatest supplier in the U.S. market with the products we manufacture in Çanakkale”

Through saying that Akçansa is one of the leading export companies because of having a port in Çanakkale, Akçansa General Manager Mr. Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu explained; \”As Akçansa, we have logistics advantage in Çanakkale. By means of our port, not only in terms of our domestic sales, but we are also one of the leading companies of Turkey in terms of cement export.”

Underlying that Akçansa gained important and permanent markets in the export markets with the contribution of its foreign partner Heidelberg Cement, Mr. Hacıkamiloğlu added, “We are conducting our export related activities in cooperation with HCT Trading company, an international affiliate of Heidelberg Cement. We are delivering our products and services to different geographies such as USA, Western Africa countries, Mediterranean Basin, and Russia. Only with the export of the low-alkali cement that we manufacture in Çanakkale, we are the greatest supplier of the U.S. market.”
