DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
Personal development plans
Competencies established by Akçansa for its employees and the
individual knowledge, talent and interests of our employees are
all administered during the Personal Development Plan phase, as a guide
for our employees.
The employees get together with their managers in this phase, where
all our employees are held responsible before else for their personal development.
The individual strength of each employee and their improvement
areas are
defined; development objectives are determined and development
activities to be implemented throughout the year are planned.
Not only in-house or external training activities but also
various experimental activities can be planned in personal
development plans, in line with the principle of gaining
experience and learning while practicing a task. In the
meantime, the managers are expected to share the responsibility
arising in connection with the realization of these plans
with the employee and the company, and to assist the employee
by guiding/developing him/her with a coaching approach.
Training Activities
Various training activities are planned on the fields and
subjects as necessitated by Akçansa employees so as to contribute
to the Companys goals and objectives, and these plans are
monitored by the Human resourcess function throughout the
year.
Orientation Training: This is a short training program in which the newly recruited
employee is provided with general information about Akçansa
and a presentation of the department he/she will be working
in and the linked departments.
On-the-job Training: This is a training activity in which the newly recruited
or relocated employee is provided with basic information
during his/her first week at the subject post, on the job
he/she will be carrying out, by his/her supervisor.
Vocational
Trainings: These are training programs aimed at increasing the knowledge
and skills of our employees on the jobs they are responsible
for.
Personal Development Trainings: These are training activities aimed at developing the individual
skills and competencies of our employees, in line with
the Companys objectives.
Management System Training: These are training programs in
which standards requirements for Quality (ISO 9001), Environment
(ISO 14001) and Occupational
Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS 18001) are
explained in connection with the trainees job descriptions.
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
All Akçansa employees are entitled to participate in the
Management Development Program (MDP) implemented by the Sabanci
Holding Human resources Department that aims to develop the
knowledge, skills and competencies of all employees of our
shareholder Sabanci Holding, with the intention that they
become more effective in their jobs. Furthermore, participants
are designated among Akçansa employees each year for the
management development programs namely, Management Candidate
Program (MCP), Talent Pool (TP) and SALT (Sabanci Leader
Team Program) organized by Sabanci Holding and IMCP (International
Management Candidate Program) organized by HeidelbergCement.
