AND SELECTION
One of the essential objectives
of Human resourcess management today is to make sure
that suitable personnel work at suitable jobs with high
motivation and satisfaction, and thus to contribute
to the company in achieving its efficiency and profitability
targets. The first things to be done for achieving this
objective are to establish the processes that will provide
the company with human resources, and to guide the whole
organization regarding the implementation of the right
steps within these processes and to provide consultancy.
The common characteristic of successful institutions is that
they employ competent and efficient individuals. The road to
increasing the efficiency of an institution goes through increasing
the number of such employees. In addition to our training and
development programs implemented for our current employees,
determination of the present and prospective labor requirements
of our Company, and the Recruitment and Selection process that
aims to supply these requirements within Akçansa or externally
are among our efforts to this effect.
Setting up the recruitment
strategy
The most suitable one of the below
listed three sub-processes is selected for this activity
carried out within our Human resources Function:
1) In-house transfer
2) Internal advertisement
3) Use of external resources
Shared Responsibility
All candidates, notwithstanding
the fact that they come from an internal or external
source are interviewed by the Organizational Development
and Recruitment (ODR) Department and an executive/manager
to which the subject job position is associated, so as
to ascertain the experience and competency level of the
candidates. In other words, this process does not remain
only within the scope of responsibility of our Human
resources function but within the fundamental responsibilities
of all our executives.
Providing resource
for the whole Company
At this phase, those who conduct
the interview evaluate the candidates not just for the
current open position, but also for the subject function
or different functions organized under Akçansas other
units, with the aim of supplying resources to the Company.
This mission necessitates the related executives to possess
a broader perspective that incorporates the whole of
Akçansa for the recruitment and selection processes.
The selection of the applicant to be employed is resolved
in line with the joint decision of an executive of the
Human resources function and the executive of the subject
job position. Studies conducted on the issue indicate
that efficient implementation of the Recruitment and
Selection process, in addition to employee motivation
and satisfaction, contributes directly to the organization
in accomplishing its strategic objectives as well.
