Collecting Samples
At all levels of the production process, samples are collected in line with
the Quality Plan. Quarries, purchased raw materials, raw material crushing,
raw material grinding, clinkerization, cement grinding and product shipment
points are sample collection points that represent the main production
processes. After the crushing process, before raw materials are mixed homogeneously
and stored, sampling and analyses is carried out by implementing the most
up-to-date methods. After the raw materials are crushed and before they
are fed into the kilns automatic sampling methods are in effect. At the
product shipment points, spot sampling and product control compliant with
EN norms are implemented.
Preparation of Specimens
Samples undergo a preparation process before analysis.
These processes consist of the reduction of the sample
to a representative amount, drying, grinding, etc.
Analyses
and guidance of production
The specimens are held subject to physical and chemical analyses. Analysis methods
are implemented according to the EN standards. Data obtained from these analyses
is used to provide that it is shared by the production workforce and the management
in its most general sense so as to increase the performance of the production
processes and to increase the quality of the end product. All phases of the analysis
methods and the guidance and implementation of the production processes have
been documented; transparency and straightforwardness is the fundamental factor.
Analyses
carried out in the laboratories;
Physical analyses: fineness, specific surface
area, grain size distribution, liter weight, density
Wet chemical analyses: Aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide,
iron oxide, calcium oxide, alkalis, magnesium oxide, sulfur
trioxide, free lime analyses in cement and raw materials
and also X-ray spectrophotometer tests can be realized at
the wet chemical analysis laboratory.
Mortar and concrete tests: Concrete durability tests, initial
and final set times, expansion of concrete
Fuel analyses: Humidity, sulfur, volatile matter, calorimetric
tests.
