Akçansa introduced its special products at the TurkeyBuild Exhibition

Akçansa, the leader construction materials company of Turkey, introduced its special products and projects to the sector professionals by attending to the 42nd International TurkeyBuild Exhibition on June 18-22.

Akçansa, the leader construction materials company of Turkey, introduced its products to the visitors at the 42nd TurkeyBuild Exhibition gathering the representatives from the construction industry together.

As the ready-mixed concrete supplier of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which will become the “suspension bridge with the longest central span in the world” when completed, Akçansa presented the Çanakkale Bridge at its booth this year.

The special concrete, which “1803 Çimento” product (developed specially for the project after long R&D efforts of Akçansa under Betonsa brand) is used for, is developed to have a service life of minimum 100 years. Within the scope of the project, total six production plants on both sides serve with hot water, cold water, ice preparation and storage units in order to produce concrete stably under any climate condition. With units from special concrete design to patched microsilica, facilities supply concrete to the project for 24/7.

Unlike standard concrete, “1803 Beton” offers processability at a record time of six hours for offshore castings, is resistant against environmental impacts, is impermeable, controls the heat evolution, and has a high performance.

Stating that one of the most important agenda for Akçansa is the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, Akçansa General Manager Umut Zenar said, “We developed our “1803 Çimento” product at our Çanakkale plant specially for a project that will be a source of pride for our country. We are proud to take place in this project as a solution partner. We believe it will be a project that will take place in the world literature once again following the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in Istanbul.”

Zenar highlighted that they started with export at Ambarlı this year and said, “We made investments with our innovative products to the port business to increase the number of our overseas markets. We have a “boutique service” understanding at international standards in our ports, and we are also providing service to third parties. We want to make a significant contribution in closing the current account deficit in our economy, while we are aiming to double our export in 2019.”
